Meet The Photographer
About BrianI am a full time professional Photographer, I started shooting weddings and portraits in 2003 and am qualified with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. I can honestly say I love my job, I enjoy meeting people, be they a happy couple, individuals or proud parents with their little ones. My life is about recording and sharing in my clients most special life events. It really keeps me focussed on what the important things in life are and I'm fortunate enough earn a living recording them. I'm a 'stay at home dad' to a gorgeous little girl aged 2 in January. Working from home I get to see a lot more of her than most regular dads and together with my Wife, Wendy, we are all very close and make a point of doing family things whenever possible. I believe it's not the destination in life that's important but the journey. It's too easy to sacrifice personal dreams and family time in the pursuit of personal career, status and wealth and to constantly 'fast forward' your life without taking time out to enjoy simple pleasures with the people you love. My personality is reflected in my photographic style. I'm naturally a very warm and easy going sort of person so I tend to put people at ease and this often comes through in my images which show a good deal of connection between the viewer and subject. Outside of Photography my interests are competitive dancing and reading. My wife and I used to compete at a national level in Latin American dancing where we used to represent Wales. We have been trained by a couple of the older strictly come dancing professionals been judged by Arlene and and even competed against Darren Bennet and Lillia Kopyylova at one point, although to be fair they did wipe the floor with us! We retired from dancing as the commitment was huge, close to 20 hours a week and we wanted to just enjoy spending some time together before we started our family. Although we no longer compete or even practice, we do still maintain a strong interest and while trying not to be 'pushy parents' are already encourging our little one to take an interest by having a boogie around the living room!
