What a First Week!
31st Jan 2006: 01:31
It's just been go, go, go this week!
First of all I had to squeeze out of Mummy,
not easy I can tell you, I was pretty tired afterwards but it was nice to
finally meet Mummy and Daddy, even if Mummy did look a little out of
it...you'd have thought she could have made an effort.
We all then got into Mummies big pram and she
drove it to my new home, I have to admit, the old place was getting just a tad
small and the new place is much better.
In our new place there are three big hairy
monsters, but they aren't scary. Their a bit like me really, they mostly just
sleep all day and eat. I really must ask them how they use that litter tray in
the corner, it would be much more comfortable than the current arrangement.
The food is OK here, I'm even putting on a
bit of weight but it's getting a bit dull, so far it's been milk for every
meal, I hope they change the menu soon.
Settled in at week 2
04 January 2006 01:50
Nan
Parkes & Grandad Grumps came to stay with us earlier this week, they were
very nice and brought me lots of presents from everybody. I was sad when they
had to go but daddy seemed very happy as they left.
That
nice lady midwife came around again this week and weighed me, I've put on 10
oz in two weeks. At this rate I'll put on 16lb a year so by the time I'm 18
will weigh 20st 8lb... I think I'll speak to mummy about switching to
semi-skimmed.
Daddy took me into his studio
this week and I did my first modeling job for him. I'm working on my looks
now, I can do lying on my back looking up, propped up looking up and I can
even wave my arms around and drool at the same time. I think I'm going to be a
huge supermodel which should pay my way through princess college.
Where
does Daddy go?
12 February 2006
Daddy
is up to something. All this week he's got up really early and tried to sneak
out of the house without me knowing, he doesn't realise I'm just pretending to
be asleep. He's out all day too and doesn't come back until it's nearly my
time for bed.
He tries to make it up by
cuddling me and getting me ready for bed when he comes back but I'm not so
easily bribed, it's going to take a new rattle at the very least.
But
where does he go? He said something about putting food on the table but Mummy
does that, Daddy's not too good around the house. I'll have to investigate and
find out.
Mummy
Moo!
19th February 2006
Mummy
has started pumping breast milk into a bottle so Daddy can feed me at night.
When she was doing it she said she felt like a dairy cow so now Daddy and I
call her Mummy Moo.
The
Sesame Seed Incident
21st February
2006
Today was not a good day. Mummy was
eating her tea while feeding me, first she dropped a chip on my head, then she
got some gravy on my suit and then....she managed to get a Sesame seed stuck
right up my nose! Mummy and Daddy were trying for ages to get it out but it
just wouldn't come.
I'm
Indestructible!
23rd February 2006
I
found out I was indestructible today.
Daddy
was carrying me in my bouncer chair by what he thought it was the handle, I was
trying to tell him it was only the mobile attachment to clip my toys too but
he wasn't listening and to cut a long story short, it fell off!
I
fell about 4 feet as Daddy was holding me up to smile at me at the time but
fortunately I was strapped into my chair and its made like a soft padded
trampoline so I had a fairly soft landing.
Daddy
was very shaken and couldn't sleep that night, but I thought it was a bit like
the Oblivion ride at Alton Towers. Daddy was so upset that Mummy wasn't cross with
him, especially when she saw that I was OK. I'm not upset with him, after all,
I'd never have known I was indestructible if he hadn't dropped me would
I?
Adam
11th
March 2006
My friend Adam came over a couple
of time this week with his Mummy and Daddy. We kept holding hands and giggling
but I think he's too old for me, he's ten weeks old and I'm only seven.
He
came over again at the weekend and Daddy took some photographs of him with his
Mummy and Daddy.
Agoo-Ah
13th
March 2006
I had my first proper conversation
with Mummy and Daddy this week, I can only say one thing though which is
"Agoo-Ah" which of course has many different meanings but they
didn't seem to mind.
I've also learnt to smile now, Mummy and Daddy get very
mushy about this, they always seem really pleased when I do it so I must make
a note to do it before I ask for something.
Mummy
and Daddy had some pictures framed of me this week. They must think I'm a
superstar or something, they are appearing all over the house.
Am I Famous?
19th March 2006
A
huge parcel arrived yesterday and Mummy and Daddy seemed very excited about
it. It was wrapped in this plastic stuff with lots of bubbles, I think that's
why they were so excited, they certainly spent a lot of time playing with the
bubbly wrapping stuff.
The parcel turned out
to be a huge canvas print of me and Mummy, I couldn't even put my arms around
it (even if I could control them, which I can't yet). Still, Daddy seemed
happy with it and hung it in the living room.
I'm starting to think I might be
a celebrity baby, Mummy and Daddy seem really excited every time they see me,
Mummy has made a hand print of me and now there is a huge poster sized picture
of me in the living room. I wonder when I'll be on Oprah?
I
learnt to laugh today!
April 1st 2006
I
learnt to laugh today, Mummy was making all of these silly faces and it just
sort of happened. My shoulders came up and I just started giggling away to
myself. Strange thing was that after I did it, Mummy and Daddy starting doing
it too. Maybe I can do mind control because every time I smile, they smile and
whenever I laugh, they laugh too.
My
First Holiday
April 10th 2006
I
just got back from my first holiday today. Mummy, took me, Daddy and Granny to
Uncle Rob and Auntie Sam's timeshare in her big pram. Their lodge was very
nice but what I liked the best was my cousins Jack and Natasha were there and
they always want to play with me. We arrived very late so Daddy had to put up
my cot very quickly as it was my bed time.
On
the first day we went to this big mansion and walked around in the gardens. I
don't think my cousins like walking though as Jack was very upset and Natasha
collapsed on the fall claiming she 'couldn't go on any more...' so Uncle Rob
and Daddy picked them up and put them on their shoulders. I love my pram, I
had a comfy ride all the way!
That night I had
my first meal out at a restaurant, they all had something from the menu but I
stuck to Mummy milk. You never know what goes on in the kitchens at these
places do you?
On the second day Daddy and
Uncle Rob went to the driving range to play golf while Mummy got me up and
ready to go out. We all then went down to the pool and I had my first swim. I
liked the pool, but I got a bit cold so Granny wrapped me and kept me warm
while Mummy, Daddy and the rest had a swim. Natasha is a very good
swimmer so I hope I can swim like her when I'm a bit older.
We
went back to the lodge and watched the grand national on television, Uncle Rob
got very excited because his horse won, but Jack wasn't very happy because his
horse didn't finish.
We spent the evening
playing games then until it was time for me to go to bed. Mummy, Granny, Uncle
Rob and Auntie Sam LIKE playing games, but I think Daddy preferred to read.
The
next day Mummy drove us all back home in her big pram. I quite liked my first
holiday, I got to see my cousins and had my first meal out and my first swim.
I just didn't like waiting in the car when Mummy was driving.
My
New Play Mat and Tigger Bear
April 15th 2006
Mummy
bought me a new play mat the other day and its great. Its got lots of little
interesting things on it like little squidgy toys that play songs or rattle
when you touch them. Its really big too, I like it because Daddy lies on it
with me and sings songs to me. He hasn't got a very good voice and he doesn't
know the words like Mummy does but I can see that he's really trying!
Mummy's
friend Belinda came to visit yesterday and she brought me a lovely new toy,
its a giant Tigger bear that I can lie on and reach for things stuck to his
tail. I like Belinda, it was very nice of her and it's not even my birthday!
I
am not pleased with Daddy!
August 2nd 2006
Daddy
hasn't been helping me to update my website, I cried and cried but he just
wouldn't do it, he kept thinking I was hungry or tied and all I really wanted
was him to help me update my blog!
So much has
happened I don't know where to start, I think I must have hit puberty because
I heard your body changes a lot then and mine is changing really fast! I'm
getting much stronger now and if I want something, I can pull myself along and
grab it, my rattle, my book, the cats...
I've
been practicing my rolling too, I can go forwards and backwards and even do a
double if I put my mind to it. I haven't quite got the hang of sitting up yet,
I can just about, but not for very long as its a bit tiring.
I've
got two teeth and judging by the gyp I'm getting in my gums I'm getting
several more on the way. Mummy is starting to look nervous at feeding time,
can't think why.
Speaking of which, I'm really
into Veggies at the moment, cauliflower, sweet potato, butternut squash,
carrot, I like them all. Mummies a bit annoying though because I heard how
putting pureed carrot on your skin will keep you looking young and mummy
always stops me. Daddy is better though, I always seem to manage to put it
where I want to when he feeds me. I distract him by sucking my feet in between
mouthfuls but then mummy wonders how I get cauliflower between my toes.
Holiday
at Center Parcs
12th August 2006
I
went on holiday last week with Mummy, Daddy, my friend Adam, Auntie Cawoline
and Uncle Adian along with my new friends Danielle and Georgia.
It
was nice to spend so much time with Adam, we spent lots of time giggling at
each other on my play mat and we went swimming a few times but I got a bit
annoyed with in the end because he kept stealing my toys. He can crawl really
well now and I haven't quite got the hang of it so he always beats me to the
good ones.
Daddy was snoring really loud on
holiday and Mummy and I couldn't get any sleep so Daddy had to sleep on the
sofa instead, he's so loud everybody heard him then!
Poor
Mummy wasn't very well on holiday and so Daddy tried to look after me more in
order to give Mummy a break. He did OK, but I did go easy on him as he's not
as experienced as Mummy. We still had an unfortunate accident when he changed
my nappy which involved a hasty change of clothes and a LOT of wet wipes.
I
stood up!
15th Aug 2006
I'm
really chuffed with myself today I managed to stand up for the first time.
Daddy left a pack of pampers on the floor and I pulled myself up onto my feet
while leaning against them. I'll have soon have this walking thing sorted.
I
went exploring yesterday on my tummy and went to visit Mummy while she was
making her lunch in the kitchen, she seemed very surprised to see me. Later on
we where playing hide and seek, she went to the bathroom and while she was
away I hid. Mummy said I'm going to be a nightmare now, I don't know what she
means, I'm an angel baby!
Been
for a walk today
23rd Dec 2006
OK
it wasn't very far, about two steps to be honest but look, I'm not even one
yet and have you tried walking while carrying a fluffy toy that's not far off
the same size as you? Daddy was really chuffed because he worked over 60 hours
last week and on the first day he had off I did it so he didn't miss it.
I
mean, I'm happy I did it 'n everything but I don't see what the big fuss was
about, I only wanted to get to the sofa so I could get to the remote control.
My
First Christmas
25th Dec 2006
Had
a brilliant day today. Mummy and Daddy told me about this thing called
'Christmas', there was something about this bloke called Jesus and how he rose
from the grave which I forget now as it wasn't that believable but the
important thing is about this bloke called Father Christmas.
He's
some guy around Daddy's build with a red suit and a beard who climbs down
chimneys and gives me lots of toys. I'm not so sure about the feasibility of
the chimney thing, I mean supposedly he's bigger than Daddy and there is no
way Daddy would get down our chimney, its blocked off for one thing. Still,
there were loads of presents for me on Christmas morning so there must be
something in it.
I think my favorite things
are Pablo from the 'Backyardigans' and Jessie the Cat, or 'e-sss-aT' as I call
her for short. Mummy things its cute and so I play along, I haven't got the
heart to tell her I can say it properly.
All
in all was a great day, lots of new toys, went over to see Granny, Uncle Rob,
Auntie Sam and my two cousins, Jack and Natasha. Had some Christmas dinner and had a sleepover too.
Three
steps today
27th Dec 2006
I
took three steps today. Mummy and Daddy thought that was very good, I just
wanted the dam fluffy toy back, its mine!
Daddy
things I'll be walking properly in a couple of months, not much chance of
that, going shopping with Mummy will be too much like hard work, I'm going to
carry on pretending I can't do it so she carries me around, it's much easier.
