The Compleat Angler, Wedding Venue ReviewThe Compleat AnglerMarlow Bridge Marlow Buckingham SL7 1RG
The Compleat Angler is a pleasanat wedding venue situated right on the banks of the river Thames. For a wedding venue based in an urban area, the hotel has reasonably sized grounds, while not as large as those associated with your typical country manor house, they are favourable compared to other more urban venues. Size comes second to quality however and the grounds at The Compleat Angler are not only well maintained but right on the banks of the river Thames. There is certainly plenty of space for group photographs and they are lovely place for guests to mingle with a glass of Pimms on a hot summers day enjoying the cool breeze off the river. The interior decoration gives no technical issues and is ideally suited to more informal styles of photography. What I am unsure at this venue are wet weather options here for larger groups. There is an ideal space for groups of 3-5 in the form of a well lit corridor with a nice neutral background running parallel to the holding area where guests mingle before the meal. At a push this could be made to fit larger groups in by seating some guests and having others stand behind. While I did notice there were other rooms that could be used for larger groups indoors if necessary, I did not discuss the possibility of clearing these with the hotel as on my visit the couple had requested that all groups be taken at the church prior to arriving at the Compleat Angler. This should be discussed with the hotel prior to booking to ensure there are wet weather options available should it rain. In Summary this is a pleasant and very high quality venue. The river location makes for a wonderful location for guests to mingle and in general the hotel has a warm and pleasant feel.
