The Grosvenor Hotel, Wedding Venue ReviewThe Grosvenor Hotel23 High Street
The Grosvenor Hotel is situated on Stockbridge Highstreet and as with many urban wedding venues, this does reduce the size of the grounds available. The hotel has tried to compensate for this however by providing a perfectly workable space in a central garden. While the garden is not particularly large, it is quite pleasant and there is certainly enough space for your group photographs to be taken here. On a bright cloudless day at a time the sun is directly overhead I would prefer a little more shade, but even under these conditions small to moderate sized groups are still easily accommodated. Inside the function room is large, nice and light and has it's own character. It's a pleasant room to shoot informally in and there are no major technical issues that need to be overcome. While the hotel doesn't have the largest grounds, it is situated a short drive away from an area of outstanding natural beauty known locally as 'The Bunnies' were a fantastic bridge over a clear river makes for some stunning shots of the bride and groom. It's a great place to stop en-route to the hotel between service and reception for 15 minutes for some portraits of the bride and groom. Particularly if your service is at St Mary's church in which case the Bunnies is just a few minutes away. What I like about the Grosvenor Hotel is the feel of it, it has a lovely relaxed feel, particularly the function room. A wet weather plan should be discussed with the venue before your wedding to ensure that space at the hotel can be made available to you should you have poor weather. |
