Woodcote Park Golf Club, Wedding Venue Review
Woodcote Park Golf ClubMeadow Hill Bridleway Coulsdon Surrey CR5 2QQ
Woodcote Park Golf Club is a small friendly wedding venue ideally suited to the smaller wedding. Photographically this venue has lots of interesting features and is something of a hidden gem. The garden immediately adjacent to the venue is quite small, but very pretty non the less. The best place to photograph is in the left far corner facing away from the club and towards the corner facing the golf club. Please be aware that sometimes the organisers place a gazebo here for drinks as it is 'out of the way' it's also one of, if not the best angle for photographs! The second option in the garden is along the back hedge with the guests backs to the golf course. This is my second option purely because golfers are often using the greens behind and may appear in shot. The real photographic gem at this venue is the old barn type structure just around the corner from the garden. Enclosed on three sides the quality of light in there is quite simply amazing and makes for some great bride and groom portraits. continuing around toward the rear of the club there is a large Brown wooden building which can make a striking feature, 30 feet past that a pathway through a forest makes another wonderful setting with the path and tree's leading your eye into the picture. 30 feet further on there is another large open field which is a great setting, particulary under the mature tree's to the left which not only provide shade but a canopy of Green leaves to shoot under. Coming back to the front of the venue the 18th hole can also be used providing that golfers are not using it. It is however important to keep an eye out for incoming golf balls! Inside the banqueting hall is light and airy with good neutral decoration and lots of natural light. A really lovely room. Couples looking to book this venue should consider what space the venue can offer in the event of wet weather. At a push small groups could be shot under the cover of the old barn type structure, but an additional indoor room may be available as well. This is a lovely venue for a smallish spring/summer wedding in which the grounds can properly be used.
